Start the Car!

Just returned home from a great local auction sale.......with the car full!!!!!   A couple of fur coats, teacups, picture frames, chairs and a vintage polaroid camera. Oh.......and a wig.  Now to find hiding places for all these treasures.......any suggestions?  We are thinking that we might have to rent a storage unit soon.
It's been a good week......a few new vintage shops, delivery of custom windows for a bathroom and lots of laughs in the car.  Painting in the shop tomorrow and a few more items will be ready for our spring shows.
Hope you are having a fun weekend too!

Garden Show

Happy New Year....yes the Sistars are alive and well.  We are already getting ready for spring and have been invited to be part to the Peterborough Garden Show 2011.  This is a 3 day show in April......the 8th, 9th and 10th.  We are so excited to be there and to offer our whimsical garden items....windows, birdbaths, garden furniture, etc. etc......... The Salvage husbands are also happy that some of our treasures will be moving along.  We will post more of our items as they are being made in our new workshop......thank you to Linda's sweet son Matt who helped create and organize our new space in the workshop.

Winter Wonderland....

Jingle Bells..........

We love the magazine "Create and Decorate".....some great ideas and patterns in it.  This is one of the patterns we copied onto some old barn board.  The weathered board was salvaged from our Grandfather's barn which is now a pile of rubble.   We also salvaged some hinges and a few other treasures.  Grandpa Wilbur saved everthing......I guess a little of Wilbur lives on within us.

The Family Sleigh

This is the sleigh that my Mom rode in when she was young.  My cousin has it on his front lawn for the holiday season. It is hard to believe that the family would bundle up with buffalo robes and head out for a ride to the neighbours or to church.  Last year Mom and her two sisters had a family photo in the old sleigh....must have brought back some wonderful memories.  Mom just turned 80 and enjoys travelling in the warmth of her Chevy.   I wonder what she thinks about when she drives by the old sleigh..........

Markham Home for the Holidays

Thank you to everyone who came to see us at the show......we were so thrilled to see our friends from last year and excited to meet so many new people.  Wow.....custom orders.....who would have thought!!!!  We hope that our customers enjoy their many one of a kind pieces.  We are busy thinking about next year and have some new and exciting salvaged one of a kind items dancing in our heads.
Thank you to our fellow vendors for voting the Salvage Sistars the "Best of Show " booth.  We are very honoured!!!!!!  Our Mr. Salvage husbands are happy that they now have some space in their workspaces....and shuttering already at the thought of more "stuff" for next year.
