Winter Wonderland....

The snow is just beautiful.....love it when it collects on all the sleepy garden things.

Jingle Bells..........

We love the magazine "Create and Decorate".....some great ideas and patterns in it.  This is one of the patterns we copied onto some old barn board.  The weathered board was salvaged from our Grandfather's barn which is now a pile of rubble.   We also salvaged some hinges and a few other treasures.  Grandpa Wilbur saved everthing......I guess a little of Wilbur lives on within us.

The Family Sleigh

This is the sleigh that my Mom rode in when she was young.  My cousin has it on his front lawn for the holiday season. It is hard to believe that the family would bundle up with buffalo robes and head out for a ride to the neighbours or to church.  Last year Mom and her two sisters had a family photo in the old sleigh....must have brought back some wonderful memories.  Mom just turned 80 and enjoys travelling in the warmth of her Chevy.   I wonder what she thinks about when she drives by the old sleigh..........

Markham Home for the Holidays

Thank you to everyone who came to see us at the show......we were so thrilled to see our friends from last year and excited to meet so many new people.  Wow.....custom orders.....who would have thought!!!!  We hope that our customers enjoy their many one of a kind pieces.  We are busy thinking about next year and have some new and exciting salvaged one of a kind items dancing in our heads.
Thank you to our fellow vendors for voting the Salvage Sistars the "Best of Show " booth.  We are very honoured!!!!!!  Our Mr. Salvage husbands are happy that they now have some space in their workspaces....and shuttering already at the thought of more "stuff" for next year.

Whimsical Windows for the Christmas Show

Just working on some windows for the Markham Christmas show in November. Oh the fun we are having with salvaged glass and salvaged windows.  Just scored some sweet windows from the old Bryans house on Church street....went in with wrecking tools and found some interesting trim, doors, cupboard doors, heating grates and windows.   Start the car!!!!!!!!
